The Heartberry in Anishinaabe language, it’s “Ode’imin” (pronounced o-day-i-min), “ode” meaning heart, and “imin” meaning berry. Aka. Strawberries.

In Anishinaabe culture the Heartberry represents celebration and abundance.

The harvesting of the berry reminds us of abundance and connection and is found in many ceremonies including the wedding ceremony where bride and groom exchange a heartberry.
